Freelance Creative Designer

The Role:

The Creative Designer works closely with the Creative Director, to help design and execute marketing materials specifically to [Insert Country] according to the brief and guidance from the CD and Producers.

As a Creative Designer, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the flawless development, adaptation, and execution of world-class communications. In collaboration with the Creative Director, Producers & the Writing team, you will be jointly responsible for ensuring the brand’s standards are upheld and that the tone of voice is consistent with the global standard.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a real passion for creativity, be a strong creative thinker, a highly capable designer and must be a team player.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Art Director to design, adapt and validate the localized marketing materials covering digital, print, and video work based on WW guidance for [Insert Country]
  • Learn and uphold the client’s quality standards in order to ensure global brand consistency
  • Hands-on design work for deliverables specifically originated for the [Insert Country] markets
  • Follow through to the production of the deliverables, with a deep understanding of the processes involved in producing the work in order to ensure high quality results
  • Have a strong knowledge of the creative development process and highly skilled in understanding and implementing feedback and direction on the work
  • Strong communicator who is able to work effectively with other creative staff members, vendors, and freelancers, driving to common goals and embracing collaboration
  • Be able to work to defined, and often tight, deadlines on assigned projects by finding quick and effective resolution to design challenges

 

 

Requirements:

  • Ideally a diploma or degree in the design field and/or a minimum of 5 years in a Designer role, ideally within advertising, design agencies or in-house creative team
  • Strong knowledge of, and skill in using, design tools – Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Team work - easy to get along with - be able to work with Artworkers and Graphic Production Artists
  • Experience with large, international brands
  • Demonstrable experience working with both print and digital is strongly preferred
  • Must be very hands-on with great attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and within short time frames
  • Must be able to travel internationally 20-30% of the time
  • Strong communicator with excellent English and [insert native language] language skills
