What does a QA Lead do at Hogarth? 
 

The QA Lead is responsible for the speed, accuracy and overall quality of our client’s Marcom’s digital output. This person ensures that any Front-End HTML code is created, amended and adapted to a level that is fit-for-purpose and to the highest possible standard across web pages and email. 

The QA Lead spends time communicating with the client and agency development partners. They will also work with Hogarth’s offshore QA team to manage testing when capacity requires including being hands on and conduct testing directly in market so prior experience as QA test engineer is essential. The work can be fast-paced and will also involve travel to client offices outside of [insert region/country], so a willingness to be flexible with working hours and a desire to travel regularly are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the QC process and ensure that all errors are picked up before going live
  • Work closely with the Global QA lead to ensure adherence to process and governance
  • Examine and test output against checklist of criteria to ensure standards while achieving on-time delivery
  • Key contact between client and agency development partners 
  • Meet challenging deadlines, documenting and adhering to process at all times
  • Collaborate and contribute to the processes and procedures in place to ensure a smooth flow of work through the QC department
  • Carry out administrative tasks to do with configuration management
  • Manage all tickets and bugs through QA tools
  • Be able to write test plans and document progress
  • Conduct hands-on testing in market
  • Manage and train new members 
  • Communicate issues with colleagues, account teams or seniors for effective resolution. Active participation in the resolution process

Testing Experience:

  • Work across both Mac and PC platforms (ideally in a Client environment)
    • Extensive Front-End Web Page testing covering:
    • Webpage Creative Compliance and Formatting according to style sheet

    • Copy and Content QA according to brief

  • Image, video and other media assets
  • Cross-Browser Compatibility
  • Localization testing
  • Usability and Accessibility Testing
  • Device testing – Familiarity with Fluid, page responsiveness
  • Knowledge on any Defect Management tool (JIRA, Mercury/Rational tools)
  • Familiarity with SQL – Intermediate level
  • Basic Knowledge of Unix/Linux (Shell scripting)
  • Able to run test scripts
  • Familiarity with email client testing across major mail clients (including Outlook and Mail)

  • Familiarity with web email testing across major mail clients (including Gmail, Office365, Yahoo!) – Link Testing

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in a large-scale QA environment and a solid background of website testing 
  • Expert understanding of both manual and automated testing tools and requirements to include device management, test script creation, and reporting
  • Understanding of basic Unix commands to be able to navigate through the terminal and execute scripts
  • Proactive and an obsession with detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to hit tight deadlines
  • Strong communicator with excellent English and [insert native language] language skills
  • Must be able to travel as required, sometimes for several weeks at a time
