What does a Pipeline Developer do at Hogarth?
Role summary:
The Pipeline Developer works with the studio director and department supervisors to develop and support tools to accelerate workflow in the production of high-quality imagery.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and support tools to accelerate workflow
- Identify changing requirements and recommend solutions
- Manage render scenes, light rigs and production assets
- Technically and creatively promote and maintain consistent product quality and desired look
- Drive the uptake of new tools across the studio
- Work with client teams to ensure tools aren’t duplicated
Requirements:
- Proficient in Python and Linux shell languages (csh, tcsh, bash)
- Minimum of 3 years experience required in visual effects or high end commercial based work
- Strong understanding of CG production pipelines
- Sound understanding of CG techniques and technologies
- Strong ability to multi-task, organize, and problem-solve while keeping a calm demeanor under tight deadlines
- Proficient with one or more software APIs: Maya, Nuke, VRay, Deadline
- Must have a mature approach to software design and implementation
- Experience with Visual Effects Asset Management System design or development is a plus
- Strong familiarity with Linux operating systems
- Ability to thrive as a member of a team
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
- Detail oriented and focused on continual process improvement; must have a strong desire to learn from other members of the team, and to share knowledge and discoveries

Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
