What does a Lifestyle Retoucher do at Hogarth?

 The Lifestyle Retoucher oversees a team of digital production artists, primarily working in Photoshop. In addition, the lead will be responsible for setting expectations with cross-functional teams. These responsibilities include establishing the look and feel and delivering final assets. Though the position is a lead role, the Photo Lead must also be ready to retouch photos. Candidates must have an excellent understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. The primary final assets delivered by the Photo artists include: retouched photos incorporating the client's products, values, and experiences. These deliverables are used for composing interactive, motion graphics, and print layouts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Set clear goals, manage workload, and allocate individual assignments to team members while ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Filter and distill relevant information for the production artists.
  • Train team members, agencies, and global partners in photo technique and workflow.
  • Initiate and manage the development of process and training materials.
  • Develop best practices for managing files, folders, and naming conventions.
  • Exercise strong written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills.
  • Analyze data to forecast and evaluate trends for staffing requirements.
  • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational teams.
  • Vet and interview new team candidates.
  • Collect and provide individual performance feedback to management.
  • Provide technical support and set quality assurance expectations for photo production
  • Respond flexibly and confidently to changes in process and priorities. Collaborate with and support the other leads and management on team-wide initiatives.

Requirements:

  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design, with a minimum of 3 years work experience in a graphics-related field and/or 5+ years in a corporate work environment
  • Must have a high level of expertise in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Excellent knowledge of digital file management and server navigation
  • Adaptable, focused, and efficient
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail• Strong production portfolio with examples of complex executions

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package. $41 - $66/ Hour
