The Role:

As the Creative Director (design-based), you are responsible for determining a brand's or project's creative vision and manifesting that vision through all mediums. The job is to create, develop, and maintain a cohesive look and feel for campaigns and the retail environment.

This role works closely with the Designer and Executive Creative Director (In-house creative team) to create concepts across all mediums for products, product launches, and campaigns in Retail Stores across Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan). You must have a deep love for technology products and a passion for finesse, as your work will be seen by customers worldwide. You should be ready to lead teams or work independently to deliver the best design work of your life.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Reports to the Business Director of the team.
  • Works with the Designer and ECD (in-house creative team) to design, adapt, and validate localized marketing materials covering digital, print, and video work based on WW guidance for Greater China.
  • Owns the client’s identity by continuously presenting new ideas to strengthen a client’s brand voice.
  • Maintains creative continuity throughout the creative development phase of project work.
  • Hands-on design of deliverables specifically originated for the Greater China (including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) markets.
  • Follows through to the production of deliverables with a deep understanding of the processes involved in producing the work.
  • Has a strong knowledge and skills of the design’s creative development process and production and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to effectively work with other creative staff members, vendors, and freelancers.
  • Strong communicator who can work effectively with other creative staff members, vendors, and freelancers, driving towards shared goals and embracing collaboration.
  • Able to work to define and often tight deadlines on assigned projects by finding quick and effective resolutions to creative and design challenges.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience concepting, creative & design directing, and producing major marketing and communication and advertising campaigns.
  • Proven team management, preferably in an agency environment.
  • Strong mentoring skills, guiding and influencing up-and-coming designers or art directors. You must be willing to guide creative, art & design direction,  and design independently.
  • Experience creating work in mediums of advertising, social media, conceptual campaigns, product launches, branding, photography, and film and video.
  • Ability to develop innovative, creative work that aligns with the strategy.
  • Strong design conceptual and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
  • Great presentation skills. The ability to clearly explain and defend your work in meetings and reviews.
  • You should be an enthusiastic collaborator and be open to other people’s ideas. But at the same time, you must show initiative and be accountable for the stories you’re telling.
  • Must be very hands-on with great attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure and within short time frames.
  • Must be able to travel as required, sometimes for several days/weeks at a time.
  • Strong communicator with excellent Mandarin and basic English language skills.
